50 Fantastic Ideas
The 50 Fantastic Ideas series is packed full of fun, original, skills based activities for Early Years practitioners to use with young children. My own childhood is filled with memories of making mud pies and petal perfumes in the garden for hours at a time. As a teacher, I have observed my EYFS classes over the past twenty years seek out the messy, muddy and sensory play that a mud kitchen can offer and so I wanted to create a book that would inspire them to head outdoors and get their hands dirty.

Introducing 50 Fantastic Ideas for Mud Kitchens
Borrow from nature, get your hands dirty and let Mother Earth be your trusty teaching companion!
50 Fantastic Ideas for Mud Kitchens makes the most of every season, providing buckets of muddy fun all year round. Packed with time- and money-saving activities, this book is designed to guide and inspire creativity in Early Years settings.
Each idea encourages children to explore, adapt, and build on their interests – deepening their learning through play. From magical potion stations and acorn mud pies to frozen snow cakes and sandy pancakes, there is plenty on offer to support the development of fine and gross motor skills, early maths and literacy, communication, expressive arts and design skills and understanding of the world.
No mud? No problem! This fantastic book explores a range of materials that can also be used in a mud kitchen, such as sand, ice, water and so much more.
